Pips fill 0..5 in half steps. Lower counts read drier or shadier; higher counts read thirstier or sunnier.

A five-tier indicator that hints at how easy a plant is to find and to keep alive.
- CommonEasy to grow; widely available.
- UncommonA little fussier or harder to source.
- RareSpecialist plant; needs the right conditions.
- EpicDemanding -- expect attention every season.
- LegendaryKeystone or culturally significant; treat with reverence.
Severity encoding
Hazard icons inherit a colour ramp from the plant's overall warning level. The silhouette is load-bearing -- the row never relies on colour alone.
- CalmNo special caution beyond ordinary food handling.
- Low cautionMinor caution for specific groups; otherwise widely tolerated.
- Moderate cautionRead the warning before use; not for everyone.
- SevereHard stop -- do not use without expert guidance.

Seven-hazard vocabulary. Severity tint comes from the plant; the icon below is shown at moderate level for reference.
- Avoid during pregnancy or breastfeeding without practitioner sign-off.
- Use with caution around infants and young children.
- Toxic or sensitising to common pets (dogs, cats, livestock).
- Known drug or supplement interactions; check with a pharmacist.
- Skin contact may cause irritation or sensitisation.
- Toxic if eaten in any quantity.
- Known allergen, often through cross-reaction with related families.
